Day of National Unity,
of the Constitution,
the National Anthem and the Flag

Since 2014, as directed by the premiership, in order to celebrate and strengthen the value of the unification of Italy, the Municipality of Santena has conducted a ceremony dedicated to the country’s Unity, Constitution, National Anthem and Flag to be held every year on March 17th.

Deliberation proposal by the Mayor of Santena:

The Premiership, office for State Ceremony and honors, with a note by undersecretary of State to the Premiership Paolo Peluffo – concerning the Day of National Unity, of the Constitution, the National Anthem and the Flag – has selected the Municipality of Santena, where the mortal remains of Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour are preserved, as the place where March 17th celebrations dictate the necessity of rekindling and strengthening in the entire country the memory and value of the Day of National Unity with appropriate events and celebrations, to be conducted in the presence of local authorities and representatives thereof.

The ceremony did not take place because of the national lockdown imposed due to the Covid-19 emergency.
